I never thought that I would see a shovel as the product of an innovative mind, but that is how I see this one. I bought it after seeing it on TV, I think on “Cool Tools” on the DIY Network, in anticipation of a project my dad wanted me to help him with. I should mention that my father is the family handy-man and I am… not so much of a handy-man. I bought this shovel because of the promise of “more work with less time and effort” and I can honestly say that it lives up to its claims. My dad digs and generally works much faster than me, but this shovel let me keep up with him, and we finished digging much sooner than expected. My mom and dad both tried it a few months later while I was at college and it gets their seals of approval as well. All three of us give this shovel 5 stars.

This is a great shovel. Best I’ve ever used and I’ve worn some shovels to the point of the tip being concave instead of being pointed. It is heavy. Makes sense, put more in it and it will be heavier. This is the first shovel I’ve had that you can dig straight down the sides of a hole. Typically the kick plate at the back is curved back thus dragging or digging in when your trying to slide the shovel down the side of a hole. This one is not bent. Pieces are welded and go forward into the shovel area. Got nothing but good stuff to say about it! But one and you won’t be sorry. You do need a strong back to carry the extra weight.
